Twin does not support extra outputs. This allows 8 additional inputs. I use it for MPC, drum maschine, maschine etc etc. but there is no back and forth routing with the twin. It cannot do it. You want to track the out of your MPC. Yes. You want to send them to outboard after tracking. No.

@@Unders So can use the adat from the Apollo twin to Behringer for the extra 8 inputs then thunderbolt to my Mac mini to record my beats into Logic Pro and the Apollo twin as the interface to my Logic. Sorry if this question is stupid but like I said I’m trying to update from an old digi 003

They will no longer be found if you remove their location. It’s all or nothing. You can manually assign each thing in kontakt if you have the mental fortitude. I do not.

as said in the video, the twin cannot do what you want, for signal to go both ways you need 2 ADAT ports.

@@Unders thanks so I’ll just be better getting the same behringer you bought I can record the line inputs from the behringer into the Uad console I just want to then send an out put from the second outs puts 3 and 4 out the twin into my Octatrack that should work ?

This is only applicable to those also producing their sessions though. But doing this also adds a LOT of summed distortion too that comes up in the end. Very easy to… “overcook” is the best term I can think of.

@@Unders Maybe check out mixing clip to zero by Baphometrix and try it out. You’re assuming that you get distortion which you don’t if you clip not more than a couple of db on the summing busses. It’s a proven method for mixing really loud.

I’m not arguing that it isn’t a method. But that it’s not applicable here. A that it’s very easy to overdo. Softclip adds distortion if you clip even 0.5 of a dB that’s how it works to ease in.

Clip to zero method previously mentioned relies on hard clipping on each channel as well as the buses. The premise being the acculuation of many small clips throughout the project allowing for very little limiting when mastering. It works very well when done well and achieves super loud masters... But yeah get what you're saying.

Quite a few mixes in the past utilised converter clipping to achieve similar regarding level

automation.

There’s whole units dedicated to this like elektron analog heat - thmn.to/thoprod/567104?offid=1&affid=1190 If you really wanted to being an analog chain for mastering though I’d look at tubetec multiband that’s a very useful unit. And one my old engineer swore by.

I personally wouldn’t and don’t I bounce everything and use the colour tax system in Mac to organise. Nick explains in his video he uses it for an organisational reason and it keeps everything contained in one session. I don’t know for other DAW but I covered many years ago the different ways of bouncing in logic and how they all also sound different which would be a concern to me.

Also, make more music "Sadboy" is great.

But listening more Streakys slightly distorts during certain parts. I think somewhere between Nic’s more dynamic and Streakys more compressed is perfect for your song.

I can agree with that I feel it’s the use of the multiband compression option which is something I would often reach for but wasn’t present in the other tutorials.

@YoungLitHippy the thing with the distortion is having to blindly copy limiter soft clipping settings and then push to a certain level. Whereas with Nick we correctly gain staged at every portion so that would not be an issue.
